The Islander has placed several calls but could not confirm a sale with the apparent new managers.

Messages left with administrators Ferrier Hodgson remained unanswered over the past two weeks.

The mill was placed into administration by its former owners SFM Australasia in late March this year and the administrators have actively sought a buyer.

The mill has continued to operate in the months since it was placed under administration. More information is expected to be available in coming weeks.
