Penneshaw park re-opens

29 Oct, 2009 03:52 PM
The caravan park at Penneshaw will re-open, with the new owners planning to have part of the park open to the public by Christmas.

A consortium consisting of Australian Coast and Wilderness Resorts Pty Ltd - operators of the Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort - and G. Rischbieth and Associates has bought the “old caravan park”, which has not been operational for six years.

Consortium spokesman Trevor Jaggard said the acquisition of the site had been protracted and somewhat frustrating, but the group had kept its focus and looked forward to presenting an innovative and exciting development plan that would cater for permanent residences and holidaymakers alike, “further enhancing both Penneshaw and Kangaroo Island as a great destination” to live and holiday.

It was the intention of the consortium to proceed with a planning application at the earliest opportunity, and it hoped to have a restricted part of the new Kangaroo Island Shores Tourist Park open to the public for the 2009-10 Christmas-New Year holidays.
