Clayton Willson took his fourth Mail Medal on Monday night, but this time added the Ozone Medal to his collection.
Willson, of Dudley United, stormed home in the last game with three votes against Wisanger on Saturday, beating young Western Districts player Josh Graham, who was leading until the last game but failed to poll against Parndana.
The exciting finish to the Kangaroo Island Football League 2009 vote count night was witnessed by about 150 people at the Parndana Sports Club.
Willson also took home the Ozone Medal, voted for weekly by opposition coaches.
Parndana’s Ashley Ness won the Johnston Medal for best reserves player.
The Islander goal kicking awards went to Rick Morris in the A grade and Daniel Dunstan in Reserves.
Wisanger veteran David Neave was presented with an award for his astonishing 500-game milestone.
Parndana wont the club award.
A special presentation was made to young Kangaroo Island player Luke Bowd, who played his debut game for South Adelaide’s league side in the SANFL recently. It was collected by his father Gavin.
MC Wayne Phillips proved a popular choice again and guest speakers and former AFL players Tony Modra and Shaun Smith provided great stories for the crowd.
