Kingscote v MacGillivray

Kingscote finally winning a toss this season, decided to bat but MacGillivray’s bowlers were aided by the wind troubling Kingscote’s top order with swing.

Clayton hit a big six to open Kingscote’s account but chopped on shortly after. Chirgwin, Butler and both Virgos followed within 10 overs with both Bolto boys bowling well.

Luke Stewart’s innings of 41 saved the home side, well-aided by Stead and Greeny. The Dogs bowled out for 117 well before cut off time.

MacGillivray batted eight overs before the main break with C Bolto and Rhys Lovering looking solid.

Once play resumed it took another four overs for a break through with Stead holding a reflex catch off his own bowling.

MacGillivray’s young top order batted solidly but were slowly getting strangled by lack of runs.

Once Stead struck again and then Chirgwin in the 19th over with the score at 40, the visitors never recovered.

Kingscote got a sniff and once dangerman Lade was bowled by Morrison and Green snaring a couple up the other end, it was all over.

Late hitting from Bolto and runs to Bill Willson weren’t enough to get the visitors home.

Silly Point

Parndana v Wisanger

A warm welcome to Wisanger at the Heartland. Parndana batting first were in trouble early with C Billett the only resistance falling for 25, leaving the home team 6/35.

B Florance causing trouble in the top order claiming 5/35 off his ten overs.

Sam Horjus making a good 23 n/o, down the order, to help compile a low total of 118.

Wisanger started the run chase well with openers Wilks and Swayne.

Wilks fell for 35 and Swayne for 23 and then a small hiccup when Parndana captain Putland removed Hartman and Florance without scoring.

C Smith steadied the ship making 39 n/o, reaching the required runs off 26 overs.

B Putland returning the figures of 3/30, a ray of light for the home team.
