Dudley 49 d Kingscote 28

After being beaten in the first round by Kingscote, the Dudley United girls were out to prove a point on home turf on Saturday.

The game started with very tight court play, both teams having to work hard for every goal. Quarter-time D15 to K11.

Dudley bgean to dominate. Few positional changes to Dudley. Rachel Peckover taking a couple of good intercepts. Linda shooting well. DU supported by Julie.

Dudley dominated the court play although Kingscote not giving up.

Dudley 25 up at three-quarter time. Kingscote shooting a lot better in the last quarter but Dudley a lot stronger on the day to win by 21 goals.

Parndana 63 d Wisanger 31

The skies cleared for the beginning of play and both teams got off to a good start. The Parndana defence was strong and intercepted passes into goal. Sarah Johnson and Ange Horjus worked well in the goal circle with direct passes from team mates. Both teams found the ball slippery with some passes going astray. Rebekah Bott and Jacqui Havelberg were strong through centre for Wisanger with good intercepts.

With GS Jane Roberts off at half time with injury, Parndana dominated the third quarter with Belinda Clifford and Yaeda Dorrestijn defending strongly creating turnovers that were finished off with accurate shooting. The Wisanger players persisted but could not stop Parndana’s dominance.

In the final quarter positional changes by Wisanger saw Jacqui Havelberg into GD, a much more consistent quarter by Wisanger. However Parndana had played a solid three quarters to enjoy a comfortable win.

Dudley 58 d Kingscote 29

Dudley dominated in first quarter with excellent passing and movement in attack. Kingscote missing a few players and Jas Florance being forced to leave the court in the first quarter did not help. An unsettled Kingscote opened up in the second quarter making the game a bit more even.

Dudley made positional changes through centre court. Kingscote also made some radical position changes at half-time and had a better quarter with some good interceptions but on the day Dudley too strong with both ends of the court solid and hard to beat. Rain held off so conditions much better than the week before.

Parndana 56 d Wisanger 23

Parndana dominant in attack showing on the scorecard 13-2 at the first break. Wisanger lifting slightly with some positional changes, battling all quarter.

Parndana sharp shooters Kate Murray and Sharon Gaskin not letting their team down with accurate shooting. Parndana continued to play as a team creating space all over the court.

Wisanger went goal for goal at the start of the third term but Parndana’s strong defence forced many errors. After a good drenching in the final quarter and then the blue skies came over so did the end of the game with a convincing win to Parndana.

Dudley 35 d Kingscote 31

Wisanger 49 d Parndana 43

Even play throughout the game with the scores see-sawing throughout each quarter. Wisanger one up at half time. They continued to be in front and won by 6. Great play by defence Sharlene Noble and in attack Kristy Turner. Sue Morris and Catherine Bennett were best for Parndana.

Parndana 41 d Wisanger 32

First quarter was a tussle with the defences playing well for both teams. The wind making it difficult for goalies Meika and Melanie who had difficulty getting the ball through the ring.

Second quarter saw threatening skies, both teams played will through the centre with Parndana goalies getting in a few more shots to be in front at half time. Wisanger goalies shot well in the third quarter and their centre intercepted well. The final quarter and the rain arrived, many girls looking to the bench to see how much time was left. The game was played in good spirit well done to all.

Kingscote 49 d Dudley 33

The windy conditions made it fun! At least the rain stopped. Kingscote shooter Tayla Lovering spot on, even in the wind, giving Dudley’s defences Maddie Maguire and Ricky-lee Barrios, a tough time. Dudley catching up in the 2nd quarter but Kingscote had another spurt.

3rd Quarter Dudley tried hard but Kingscote and their fresh legs proved too strong. Excellent game to watch.

Parndana 41 d Wisanger 12

After finishing the first round undefeated, Parndana quickly set about stamping their authority on the game early. Cori Kelly and Millie Speed shooting exceptionally well and maintaining dominance in and around the circle regardless of the blustery conditions. Wisanger’s goalers Tash Boxer and Emma Stapleton finding it hard to convert over the strength of Emma Gaskin, and a very determined young Chelsea Bond at goal keeper. Half-time scores saw Parndana out by a commanding 24 goals, and even though several positional changes were made by both teams the score still remained. Shayne Richter provided a lot from defence for Wisanger in the third quarter allowing them to convert four goals to Parndana’s five, but it was Parndana’s little brigade which allowed them many attacking opportunities through Nina, Barbara and Chelsea B. Justice and Rachel played well for Wisanger as did Tash Boxer but not clearly enough to upheave Parndana’s winning run. Chelsea Hicks showed her versatility going from centre to goal keeper - still rebounding strongly to send Parndana back into attack.

Dudley United 49 d Kingscote 6

The conditions were very wet and windy making the play on both sides erratic and goals hard to come by.

Dudley United had the advantage in height at both ends and therefore took many rebounds.

The court play improved as the players adapted to the wet conditions and Jade and Shai started to put in the goals. Zoe and Kate tried hard in goals for Kingscote as did Annie at GD but overall DU too strong over the whole court. Well done to umpires Alix and Andrea in tough conditions.

11 and Under

Wisanger 16 d Parndana 11

A good entertaining and competitive game of netball with good ball skills exhibited by both teams. The first three quarters were evenly matched however Wisanger dominated in the last with strong direct passes and quick turnovers to win the game.

Western Districts 14 dKingscote1 3

Both teams found it hard in the firs half with the windy condition and finding the goals. Both teams also found the momentum in the last half, playing well. WD too good at the final term but a great fight put up by Kingscote.

Dudley 15 d Kingscote2 2

First quarter pretty even play, Dudley shooting well. Great defending by both teams.

Very cold conditions second quarter DU couple of goals up with great defending by Sophie Thomas for DU and great game by Kiara Hadland getting numerous intercepts. Not the best day for shooting goals - very windy but all girls trying hard all day. Great shooting by Raia Spark DU. Good game played in good spirit by both sides.

Netta

Parndana v Wisanger

Parndana got off to a good start with great leading into space and strong passing. Wisanger girls tried hard all game Natasha Griffith ran well through centre and Rachel Barr took some nice intercepts. The Parndana girls were very consistent all over the court with many intercepts and good footwork skills finished off with nice shooting.

Kingscote v Western Districts

The puddles were almost big enough to drown the wee Netta girls at Dudley on Saturday with rain falling steadily throughout the game. The girls battled on bravely with Western Districts proving their superior skills despite the weather with steady passing and shooting. Bridget Benney used her height and skills well and Tanner was not slowed down by the rain. Kingscote continues to improve its game and teamwork with some nice passages of play and lots of great intercepts from Melissa and Jacinta in defence. Bridget Black and Sarah had some great passing in the centre court.
