Parndana v Hog Bay

Hog Bay travelled out to the heartland on a cool afternoon and bowled first. Colt B Kirby took two early wickets and when two more fell soon after Parndana was in strife at 4/45. C Billett and B Putland then steadied the ship before, scoring 70 and 38 before being removed. Rowe and B Kirby both claimed late wickets to see Parndana fall just short of 200. Hog Bay started the run chase well, with T Kirby and H Harvey scoring at will, although assisted at times by dropped catches. The opening partnership of 124 set Hog Bay up in the box seat. Kirby on 67 and Harvey on 47 both departed just after drinks. H Gurney and A Willson steering Hog Bay to victory with some lusty hitting against Parndana’s young bowling attack.

Juniors

MacGillivray v Wisanger

The lush oval provided the perfect platform for these young cricketers to show their stuff.

Retirements, classic catches, off spin, pace, boys, girls, parents - this game had the lot.

With Jake and Coby both retiring, and Dillan Lockett, our new recruit scoring freely, the Hawks amassed 102, probably not enough runs, but a defendable total.

The Hawks were tight in the field, and kept the pressure on but strong innings from Bridgette, Liam, Josh, had the Panthers on their way, but tight bowling from Damon and Brodie, gave a middle order resurrection, but too little too late had the Panthers comfortable winners.

MacGillivray 102, Wisanger 125.

A great game played, well done to all involved.

Tanks

Western Districts v Kingscote

A chilly day with a heavy dew greeted Western Districts and Kingscote at Gosse. Wonks bowling first opening bowlers Ant Anderson and Lucas Boyle bowling tight, Lucas benefitting from the partnership with 2 wickets Kingscote on the back foot losing wickets at regular intervals with the exception of Sam Lewis who batted very well for an unbeaten 22.

Lochie Florance cleaned up the middle order with a fine spell of controlled swing bowling. Finishing up with 3/10. Scott Hammat cleaned up the tail with some fine bouncers claiming 2 scalps for 0. Kingscote all out 81.

Wonks destroyed the Kingscote side with a superior batting display ending up with 1/156 only unlucky batsman to get out being Ty Boyle. Ant and Lloyd Coulsen both retiring on 22 and 23.

All other batsmen contributing well. Wonks on the improve.
