Hog Bay v MacGillivray
Saturday was an absolutely picture perfect day for cricket at Penneshaw, magic weather and the oval looking a treat for the Razorbacks first home game of the season. After sending the Hawks into bat, the Razorbacks got straight down to business dismissing the two dangerous Bolto brothers early. Some super tight bowling then by all the Hog Bay bowlers and some outstanding work in the field had the young Hawks under pressure, at four for 70 at drinks.
Damon Weatherspoon held the innings together with an outstanding and patient 43, but the wickets continued to fall around him and the Razorbacks maintained the pressure to restrict the score to 9 for 145 off 45 overs. An outstanding team effort with the ball with seven bowlers sharing the wickets and some great work in the field.
In reply the Razorbacks got off to a flying start, racing to 51 in the seventh over before losing 3 quick wickets in the space of two overs to open the game up again.
Captain Ken then steadied for the Razorbacks and then when joined at the crease by Heater the two of them steered the Razorbacks home in quick time dominating the inexperienced Hawk attack to pile on the remaining 70 required in only 10 overs. The Razorbacks home with five wickets in hand and 21 overs to spare.
Well done Hog Bay and thanks to all the spectators that got down to the oval and enjoyed the day. The Razorbacks are at home again this weekend v Kingscote, so come and enjoy the afternoon.
Finally to all those cricketers out there not playing, get out there and help your clubs out, we all need it!

Parndana’s chase started shakily with Matt Kelly getting a brute of a ball from Lucas, before Sam and Jesse in great form supported by Darcy Clifford steadied the Ship. Miserly with the ball were Lachie Florance, Nick Hacker and Ty Boyle before Parndana reached the target with a few overs to spare. Good to see the youngsters having a great game!
