Kingscote v Wisanger
Old rivals Kingscote and Wisanger met at the annual night game, both teams looking for their first win.
A high intensity start by both teams was fitting, neither team able to get the upper hand.
Zak Edwards was burning for the Hounds, while Bott and Trowbridge kept Wisanger in it with Kingscote up three goals to one at quarter time.
The second quarter was all Wisanger with Stead running riot at half-forward and the defenders keeping an experienced Kingscote forward line quiet.
Missed opportunities close to half-time kept Kingscote in with a sniff.
Wisanger up by four goals at the half.
After the break, a couple of big moves saw skipper Walden into the midfield and Ward into the ruck which paid off instantly; goals to Lovering, Edwards and Squeak evening the score to see things all square at the last break.
Heading into the last quarter, both teams looked to have plenty of legs despite Kingscote without a bench.
Strong tackling showed how much this game meant to both teams, but a long bomb from Green followed up with Edwards’ second goal saw the young Dogs pull away.
Wisanger made a late surge through Jones and Turner, but Kingscote held on for a narrow victory.
Both teams with plenty of young speed could scare opposing teams this year.

Kingsscote v Wisanger
In B Grade, Blues Captain Cod won the toss and the blue boys were soon away through Sean Eardly, dominating the first quarter with better use of the ball while keeping the Hounds scoreless.
Coach Ramsey must have inspired the troops at the break and they came out firing, Wade Tonkin playing on from a good mark to open their account, Jake Hodder bagging a couple to take a two point lead at the major break.
Kingscote’s run continued after half time, Michael Ward back to his best, Krissy Lee making a positive return and Josh Harris effectively running with Wisanger’s Johnston Medallist Will Decrou.
Dale Howard worked tirelessly down back and Drew Arnold had telling possessions, but with big Paddles making the most of his opportunities in ruck.
The Dogs smelt blood and worked their way to a 16 point lead at the last change. Wisanger weren’t done yet, scoring first in the last, but with best on ground Adam Robinson repelling repeated attacks, the Hounds iced a good win with the last goal of the match, scoring 9-3 to the visitors 5-6
In senior colts, the Hounds also scored a good win in a hard fought match for the reigning premiers, while in juniors a powerful Wisanger Under 12s scored a comfortable win.
