The day was perfect and the Yacht Club a fantastic venue with the view out to sea idyllic on Saturday when the team sailors plus a few extras traded their wetsuits and life jackets for formal attire of black pants and white shirts and they looked absolutely stunning as they continually circulated among Tim and Beck’s wedding guests, offering platters of food.
Team sailor mothers, Katrina Lovering, Trish vander Linden, Jodie Thomas, Sophie Turner, Linda Edwards, Anna Hadland and Tracey Ridley were busy behind the scenes in the kitchen organising the food and making sure everything ran smoothly.
Paul Thomas’ sister and her husband also turned up to lend a hand. Gerome vander Linden and Peter Lovering did a sterling job cooking all the meat on the barbecues.
Team sailing dads Pat Hadland, David Sheridan, Johannes Steyn and Paul Thomas, dressed resplendently in black and white and looking the part, especially Paul who borrowed the pink fluro bowtie from Tahnee’s doll, were kept busy all night and into the early hours of the morning in the bar.
Tim & Beck gave the Team Sailing Committee $500 for their efforts in running their wedding and this was spent on six Ronstan starting watches.
We will miss Tim’s expert coaching, we will do our best to make him proud of our efforts at Victor Harbor and we hope they enjoy their honeymoon in Singapore. The catchcry will be “We are going to do this for Tim”. The Scribe
