Last week’s front page was about the launch of the KI Art Feast, the talents of artists Lisa Collins and Nicholas Burness Pike and about a celebration of the beauty of the human body.

Kasey, almost 19, had the blessing of her family and the support of her boyfriend to participate as a model for body painting, which has become a popular art form over the past two decades and is regularly seen around the world.

Kasey wore underwear for the event and the photo on the front page of The Islander was designed to protect her privacy while still showcasing her work and the work of the artists.

The family has unfortunately received some negative feedback about the photo shoot but many, on hearing of the family’s support for her and her ambitions, have changed their mind.

Those who were at the event will know there was no lewdness or impropriety.

Kasey reprised her role at the opening of the Sights and Sounds exhibition at Sunset on Saturday night, to further acclaim.

One patron was heard to comment that there is more flesh on show in “the main street”.

.. and certainly not as much artistry or poise.

The Islander congratulates Kasey on her confidence and wishes her all success in her carrer.
