A Grade
Dudley United 45 d Wisanger 33
The rain arrived just in time for the A grade clash between Wisanger and Dudley. First term began and the Dudley girls had three on the scoresheet before you could blink. Wisanger under pressure early and got into gear by scoring 2-3 goals only to be down by two at first break.
Second term and Wisanger defence created some great turnovers which resulted in goals, putting Dudley under some pressure to hold their lead. Dudley up by five at half time.
Third quarter and the Dudley girls made some position changes which worked well but Wisanger hung in, never giving in. Last term and Dudley with a good lead to start but Wisanger persevered and actually won the quarter. Dudley’s lead too big and still got home well at the final whistle. A good game by all players.

Wisanger 40 d Dudley United (1) 38
In grey drizzly weather the B grade games started with clean open passes but some great intercepts by Mel Turner kept the score low in the first quarter. With no wind the wet didn’t seem to slow down play as girls were tested by some enthusiastic ‘first game back’ passes. New comer Ann Ellson made the centre court look easy with constant leads in front. Sue Bowd’s experience with directing play into the goal circle kept Dudley very close to Wisanger and half time scores were W 22–DU 18. Young defences for Dudley worked hard and kept clear hands in the third quarter and the score at end of term was W32 – DU 29.
Last quarter was tight both teams tiring towards the end. Lori Whyte moved into goals providing a wealth of knowledge.
Dudley United (2) 44 d Kingscote 37
Not much fun for both teams stepping out into to rainy weather and slippery court conditions.
Both teams were evenly matched at half time, with great team play.
Good defence pressure from Kingscote’s Cherikee Berden made Dudley work hard for their goals, but Charlotte Gillfillan’s accurate shooting saw Dudley advance to the lead at three quarter time.
Excellent centre play from Della Childs.

Kingscote 30 d Wisanger (1) 54
Wet conditions to start the season. K off to a good start with two quick interceptions. Great pressure by W defences. Accurate shooting Wis GS. All players handling the ball with skill considering the damp conditions. Good work by Wis GK. Kingscote GD work load increasing with good intercepts. K centre showing great vision with long bombs into the goalies. Heavier rain making for difficult playing conditions. Wis GS directing good passages of play outside the circle. Great team work around the circle for Wisanger. WD for both teams providing good back up support. Courts filling up with water down club house end needing a sweep at half time.
Restructure of K forward lines with them taking a little time to settle down. Wis continuing to shoot accurately. Wis GD getting some lovely fingertip deflections. Rain eased for start of final quarter. Wis working well in attack. Kingscote outclassed on the day but never giving up.
Western Districts 39 d
Parndana 22
Typical wonks weather, wet and cold. The girls keeping good control of the ball and doing excellent leading. Parndana shooter very accurate. Good control in the centre and goalies working well together. By third quarter the rain picked up and the weather became a bit harder to handle but the girls handled it well.

Great fast start to the game with both team’s goalies combining well. Wis 1 settled and were up by 6 at quarter time.
Second started much like the first, Cody for W1 defending well making it tough for W2 goalies. Mariah W1 in her game taking some great interceptions. Julie, Sandy and Caroline working really hard in the centre for W2. W1 up by 9 at half time.
W2 came out firing in the third with Skye and Eulia shooting well and Nat defending strongly, but W1 rallied and kept their lead at three quarter time.
Fourth W1 settled early, Iris and Maddie combining and shooting great, and Cody and Rianna defending well. Julie and Mariah having a great battle in centre court. Great first game by both teams with Wis1 eventual winners.
Western Districts 27 d
Parndana 17
A great game by both teams to open their season. Western Districts started strong with Leah Couchman and Isobel Benney shooting very well. Aroha Edwards (P) played tight on Isobel and was able to pick up balls coming into the ring. Both teams played with short passes due to the rain making the ball slippery. Girls fought hard all game in very cold and wet conditions.

Dudley United d Wisanger
Overcast conditions greeted both teams for Wisanger’s first hit out for the year. But it was the Dudley girls who flew out of the blocks fastest, they were all over the blue team before they knew it. Tash everywhere at GA scoring multiple times.
Second term Dudley still red hot but slowly the blue girls started winning some good contests on court and scoring some much needed goals. Third term saw Wisanger make changes and the goals and better court play was evident to all. Great quarter by Sallie B, Tamsin G and Caitlyn Connell contributed to this.
Last term started and Dudley lifted another gear and worked very well, but Wisanger’s defenders didn’t ease off and there were many turnovers created by great pressure netball. In the end Dudley were well deserved winners, but Wisanger girls can hold their heads high.

Well done to Dudley for a win in a very even game.
Kingscote (1) 20 v
Kingscote (2) 14
A damp start. The K2 got the first goal. Then the K1 team got a couple of goals as well. Ashleigh and Matilda defended really well for K2. Lili and Mahoney kept trying and did get them. Grace (K1) did a good job through the middle on Amy (K2). In the second, K1 got the first goal Jess (K2) and Grace (K2) but got two goals in the second quarter. There was a lot of messy play going on by both teams. Going into the third again KI got the first goals. Grace (K2) came off for K1 and Jemma came on, while Ashleigh and Jess came off for K2 and Michaela and Melissa were on. Amy (K2) and Michaela (K2) came alive in the third out scoring K1 by 7 goals to 4 goals. K2 got the first goals going into the last quarter. Matilda (K2) played a great game against Mahoney (K1). Gemma (K1) went into WD against Scarlett (K1) and did a great job. Ionah had her first game and played a great game as well. Jemma (K1) went into defence against Jess (K2) in goals and did well. Kingscote 1 held on to win by 6 goals. A great game had by all girls, even with the showers.

Wisanger 2 played Dudley at Wisanger on a wet overcast day. The game was an even match for the whole game with both teams defending well and intercepting passes in all positions down the court. Portia and Ashli were strong in defence making the Dudley girls Abby and Hayley work hard for the ball.
Great intercepting through the centre by Jessica and Sarah slowed the Wisanger girls down. The lead changed dramatically throughout the game with the final score being a draw. Great game girls.

Western Districts v Parndana
The first quarter started off a little slow with many first time players taking direction from the sidelines. Great leniency shown towards stepping for all players from umpires to the delight of many mums. Western Districts had a strong second quarter scoring 4 goals. Girls from both sides played many positions and did very well. Great game to watch.
