Steady attack wins for Blues

Wisanger 52 d

Parndana 45

Great conditions for netball today Wisanger coming out strong with a very strong and steady attack line. Parndana defence all working really well to get the odd intercept but their attack unable to convert. Fresh legs for second half gave a boost for the start of the third quarter. Parndana finishing well in the last quarter but Wisanger held on for a well-earned win.

Kingscote 56 d

A very evenly matched game. Jess Lovering (WD) fast through the centre kept Kingscote’s centre court busy. Caitlin Berry (K) shooting well despite the tight defence of Sharee Eichner (WD). Half time saw Kingscote up by 10. Second half continued to be a goal for goal battle with Kingscote winning in the end by 12.

1st quarter good interceptions from Matilda and Georgia making the B2 team challenging to score. After warming up Jaz Lierich was making some specky jumps in defence. 2nd quarter both teams warm now and Corrine’s red bull in the shoe came in handy getting lots of goals in. Bit of a speedy start then settled down for some good netball. Jaz again in defence, brilliant work. DU 2 making some positional changes. Della running strong through the centre and feeding Tash and Rachel in goals. Last quarter saw both teams make more position changes. Great last quarter by both teams with Julie into goals for DU 2. It was goal for goal and a very even last quarter.

Western Districts 45 d Kingscote 43

A great game to watch that was goal for goal. Emma Boule shot amazingly well for WD, missing only a handful all game. Cherikee Berden WD defending well in the ring.

Parndana (1)

v Parndana (2)

Parndana 2 jumped out of the stalls quickly with Sharon Gaskin teaming up with Fiona Stanton in goals shot well. Cori Kelly and Kimberley May moved the ball around swiftly creating some fantastic passages of play, and Lorraine Huxtable shot well for Parndana 1. Parndana 1 had a height advantage in Bec Hams who seem to tower of her opponents, but Parndana 2’s defenders Emma Gaskin and Marina Baker started to repel all offers into Parndana 1’s goal circle. Chelsea’s and Eliza’s athleticism and agility picked off many intercepts from poor passing and Millie Speed showed great flexibility when swapped from WA to GA then to Centre, so to did Alicia Tremaine and Susan Davis. Cherie Kuchel zipped and zapped around the court and Crystal was consistent on her wing. Cori teamed up with her mentor Andrea Joy after half time which strengthened their circle combination and the scores drew closer and at one time were even during the last quarter. Parndana combined Nicola and Fiona as their goalers in the last quarter and some fantastic intercepts through Alicia and Emma the Parndana 2s held on to win by two goals.

Dudley struggling with 6 players, while Wisanger shot accurately. Positional changes made by Dudley in second quarter resulted in a few lovely defence interceptions and some extra goals. Wisanger girls moved into new positions to create a different team structure while Dudley continued to try. Wisanger had some lovely passages of play. Dudley never gave up. Well done all girls, particularly Lou for finding the oval.

A slow start from both teams saw them going goal for goal. Good defence by Parndana saw them up by 7 at quarter time. Second quarter was a bit messy at the start with both teams scrapping for the ball. Wisanger goal defenders very strong and picking up many rebounds. A very even quarter. Third quarter very even play great shooting by Penny Clarke and Jen Trethewey. Parndana still in the lead by 12. A great last quarter Wisanger fighting back. A great game, well done girls!
