With a Tidy Towns judge quietly roaming our streets on the look out for award winning gardens, people in Kingscote have an added incentive to design and maintain good looking, interesting gardens.
For the first time since 2006, Advance Kingscote is hosting the KESAB Tidy Towns competition, which before its demise six years ago, had been the driver of some good-natured competition between local gardeners.
Advance Kingscote’s main reason for re-instating the awards is to encourage town pride and improve the look of the town.
Tidy Town certificates will be awarded quarterly – during each of the seasons.
This year there were four winners in three categories: Clive Hemmings and Mandy Ryan, Kohinoor Road (business premises); David and Sheree Geci, Juniper Road, Brownlow (a property larger than a standard block); Rodney and Judy Bell, Seaview Road and Pam Davis, Chapman Terrace (home gardens).
