During half time of the A Grade match at Dudley United on September 10, this year’s recipient of the Pharmacy Medal was announced.

Damon Freitag from Wisanger Football Club capped off a brilliant year by convincingly taking out the 2016 Pharmacy Medal.

He polled an impressive 39 votes to be 15 clear of his nearest rival, Brodie Florance from Dudley United Football Club.

Following Damon, Brodie Florance polled 24 votes, Kayne Wheaton polled 23, Mahaki Edwards polled 19 and Robert Benney polled 18.

Damon was chosen as Best on Ground for every single game he played in for the entire year, after missing just the one game all season.

As he accepted the award, Damon thanked his parents for all their support, his coaches and the Wisanger Football Club.

He also played in many of the A grade games.

Damon said he now looks forward to playing in the Macca’s Senior Colts grand final in two weeks time.

This Saturday, Damon will step out with his Wisanger side to face Dudley United for the premiership.
