A beautiful day dawned at American River for our inaugural Kangaroo Island Cancer Support Group American River Mother’s Day Walk on May 14.

As well as American River locals, people came from Penneshaw, Island Beach and Kingscote to take part in this fun, healthy and worthy fundraiser.

There were brightly coloured families (including Gran in a tutu as well), super fast Stoekel runners, a cross-dressing local, the fantastic dragonboat paddlers and the CFS who manned the perimeters (with truck), keeping us all safe.

Everyone got into the act.

There were fabulous prizes.

Over half of our 14 raffle winners confessed to not having won a raffle prize before.

Thank you to our sponsors, helpers and participants for supporting this wonderful cause and helping us to raise over $1,000.
