On Sunday June 11, eight riders and a backup sag wagon driver undertook the last ride of the KI BUG (Bicycle User Group) season.

Enjoying the perfect riding weather with no wind, and mild temperatures, we wove our way around a circuit from Duck Lagoon taking in the scenic locales of Ropers Road, Bomb Alley, and Starrs Road. We were joined by world bike traveler Terri, who discovered only the second puncture of her entire journey from England to Australia.

We stopped at the airport to admire the recently erected sign, a KI BUG/KI Council project warning motorists to look out for our unique wildlife – kangaroos on bikes. The picnic ground at Duck Lagoon was a welcome sight after the 37km ride.

Rides start again in September. Enquiries to Manfred Meidert, 8553 0383.
