More fish and more enjoyment for SA anglers are the likely outcomes of the 22 fishing projects that were allocated over $500,000 in the final round of the State Government’s Recreational Fishing Grants Program.

$4,925 has been granted to KI Council to improve angler safety at the Bay of Shoals by creating a level surface across the top of the eastern breakwater and by installing a solar light. The program has in total allocated funding to 107 fishing projects worth nearly $2 million.

Member for Mawson Leon Bignell said, “KI’s recreational fishing spots are a major drawcard. This grant will be welcomed by tourists and the local community.

“The Bay of Shoals is a stunning spot for recreational fishing and I’m delighted solar lighting will be installed and safety will be improved at the breakwater.”
