The Annual Stokes Bay Genetics poll dorset sale was held on October 20 with sunny and bright conditions greeting a crowd of local and mainland buyers.

The highest price ram was sold to DJC & CA Johnson for $1800 with multiple buyers including locals VN & YM Cox and MJ & M Tremaine and mainland buyer, RG Hoffman.

The average price of the stock presented was $861 with 90 rams on offer with a clearance of 86 being sold during the auction with private sales continuing.

Proprietor Michael Stanton said he was happy with the outcome and the fact he had sold additional rams during the sale.

“Even though the average was down a little, we experienced stronger purchases from the mainland, which is a great result for expanding our family’s venture,” he said.
