You will recall I wrote about the Easter Art Show a couple of weeks ago and the need of the few remaining committee members to bring in some new people to assist with running the Show.
Unfortunately, insufficient people have responded, so in this week’s Islander is a last-ditch appeal to anyone willing to work to retain this wonderful event on the island.
Surely there are some retired people out there with skills and talents and importantly time, all of which could be put to good use - the island needs you now!
Under the heading of wonderful achievements, read about the developments with Kangaroo Island Wool that sees wool produced on the island being made into garments to be sold around Australia.
This is such a great outcome for the many wool growers involved and it’s to be hoped it will pave the way for other opportunities of this kind.
The Wisanger social club is holding a car rally next Sunday. These events are lots of fun so why not go along and join in. There’s a barbecue lunch and great prizes and it’s a fundraiser for Wisanger, so it’s a win/win all round.
Finally, thank you to the dozens of people who have been in touch regarding the changes at The Islander. We are awaiting the final word and I will inform everyone of what’s happening as soon as I know.
