The Kingscote Men’s Shed project, on Telegraph Road, reached completion last week and was officially opened by Joy Wheaton on Thursday, October 27.
With Mayor Peter Clements and Member for Finniss Michael Pengilly in attendance, Mrs Wheaton thanked the many businesses and local organisations for their donations of money and materials, and to the volunteers who spent many hours bringing the project to fruition.
The shed is a place where men can meet, exchange ideas, learn and teach skills and perhaps have a cuppa and will be trialled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Rockhopper bus will be available to enable men from outlying areas to access the Shed from 9.30am until 4pm. For more information call Allan Henderson 0409 675 312.
