Members of the Fleurieu Justices Group supported by Primary Health Network (PHN), are presenting a Community Forum at Kingscote on ‘Breaking the Cycle’, centred around domestic violence, alcohol and other drugs.
Three guest speakers will talk about these issues and what affect they have on the local KI community.
A discussion panel will follow where members of the public can freely ask questions about issues they have and what can be done to help.
The guest speakers are Sam Raven, SA Network of Drug and Alcohol Services, Carl Whitaker, SAPOL Detective Sergeant on Drugs and Jessica Stevens, Junction Australia on Domestic Violence issues.
Craig Turner, SAAS Paramedic will also give information concerning First Responders to a reported incident.
The Community Forum will be at the Lions Hall, 65 Dauncey Street, Kingscote, on Wednesday October 25, at 6pm for a 6.30pm start, concluding at 9pm.
Also at the same venue, during the afternoon from 2-4pm, Paulene Heddle JP, a Member of Advance Care Directive Assist Program will give a talk on how to prepare an Advance Care Directive.
Paulene will guide you through the form so that your wishes are known to your relatives or friends when the time comes.
This is a very informative session with everyday-type scenarios being covered to make it easier for people to understand the form and their particular needs.
The programs are open to all members of the KI community to come along and learn what is available.
For further information on either session please call either Mike McRae on 0404 111 551 or John Woite on 0407 025 439.
