Kingscote Women’s Triples
The Kingscote synthetic green was the venue for the Kingscote Women's Triples competition for 2017/18 on Sunday November 19.
Four teams came together for a knockout competition to decide who would take home the shield.
The first round games saw the elimination of the M Glasson and H Barrett teams.
The second and deciding game was to be played out between the J Bell and M Pease-led teams.
In a very exciting game, both teams played some very good bowls, with neither giving the opposing team any breathing space.
At the end of the 15th end, both teams were tied at 13 all.
A coin was tossed and the J Bell team took the mat.
H Berden and E Florence put bowls in the head area, but L Werner put in a near toucher.
This looked like it could be a match winner until M Turner practically mirrored it with a great reply.
J Bell bowled to cover the possibility of a weighted bowl into the Werner bowl.
It was then up to M Pease under instruction from M Turner to play the final bowl.
Everyone ‘rode’ that final bowl to its magnificent end.
It hit the opposing bowl out, without disturbing the Turner bowl, spun on it's own axis and sat on the green to give the Pease team the win by two points.
