The Office of the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island and the Kangaroo Island Council are hosting the Kangaroo Island Business Expo on Monday November 24.

‘What’s happening on KI?’ is an often-asked question, and on Monday November 27 in the Kingscote Town Hall – you can be updated.

The Office of the Commissioner for Kangaroo Island and the Kangaroo Island Council are hosting the Kangaroo Island Business Expo.

You can call in anytime from 10.30am-4.30pm.

The Expo presents the opportunity for residents, businesses and community groups to come along and meet with local business people with plans underway to expand, including Western KI Caravan Park, Sunrise on Falie, Hannafords’ Lifetime Retreats and Stowaway KI.

Also developers of projects that have been talked about over the last couple of years will exhibit, including Kingscote Airport upgrade; Cliffs KI Golf Course; The Dauncey Hotel; American River Resort (display only); Bickfords Distillery; KI Plantation Timbers; KI Connect; and the Emu Bay subdivision including Century 21 and Rivergum Homes.

Other networking opportunities involve access to staff from SA Water, SA Power Networks, SA CFS, SA Tourism Commission, TAFE and DEWNR. Local industry associations will also be represented.

The Hon. Leon Bignell MP, Minister for Tourism will officially open the Expo.

Business people, local residents and visitors are all invited as the Expo will present a great opportunity to ask all your questions in the one room at the one time – to see where the island is heading and to hear about the activities of the Commissioner and her team.

“I look forward to meeting islanders interested in the future of KI and hope to see many people on the day,” Wendy Campana said.

“We wanted to showcase local businesses looking to expand and we have a few examples of that.

“I was also keen to ensure that any queries regarding power, the planning approval process for developments and water issues were able to be raised and responded to,” the Commissioner said.

The Mayor Peter Clements agreed, saying “I am pleased we have been able to attract so many exhibitors and I look forward to hearing their updates”.

This project has received funding from KI Council and the Office of the Commissioner for KI.
