Art Museum of Kangaroo Island Establishment Association aims to build a regional gallery on KI.

The Art Museum of Kangaroo Island Establishment Association is gearing up to move into the next phase of its project.

This follows a successful crowdfunding campaign that has raised more than $17,000.

The association committee is seeking two new volunteer committee members, who are enthusiastic about the prospect of a regional gallery to support the art community on the island.

Between them, the two members would have expertise in the areas of finance, governance, risk management, entrepreneurship, fundraising and legal matters.

The committee expects one of those people to become the association’s treasurer, a position that would be supported by a contract bookkeeper.

The money raised through crowdfunding would also pay for consultants for work in strategic planning, accounting services, and other areas.

Contract work will be advertised soon.

The campaign raised more than $17,000 after costs, which included payments to Kangaroo Island artists for their works given as rewards to campaign donors.

If you are interested in joining the committee and have at least some of the required skills, please contact the committee at amki.committee@gmail.com or phone Kathie Stove on 0417 086 870.
