KI Pony Club holds first rally of new year

A perfect winter’s day was put on for our first rally of the new Pony Club year.

Under cloudless blue skies and beautiful sunshine, we welcomed some new and returning faces and had a large collection of horses, riders and family alike.

After our morning line up and gear check, our morning lessons were broken into two groups, led by Bill and Linda, and focused on road safety.

This is an important aspect of riding, especially focusing on safety around our country roads. Some further flat work was done before we had a break for lunch.

After a yummy sausage sizzle, we again gathered together with our horses for some fun and games. Lots of laughs were had during a saddle up and double-dinking relay game.

After finishing up our games, it was time for a group to do some serious bush bashing which had a smile on every child’s face.

The other group headed over to the jumps with Bill and worked their horses over some cross country and show jumps.

A fantastic day was had by all. Thank you to the instructors, participants, parents and helpers. It’s a wonderful and supportive environment for all our riders to learn in. – Bridie Berden
