The Kangaroo Island Basketball Association will be holding their AGM at 6.30pm on Tuesday, August 14 at the Ozone Hotel.
The association are looking for some new, enthusiastic faces, with a passion to keep basketball continuing on our Island.
"All positions are vacant and need to be filled for our competition to continue, however some existing committee members are looking to continue and are looking forward to the inclusion of some new faces from our community to jump aboard," said current acting president, Kristy Turner.
“Our vision for Kangaroo Island Basketball is to continue to build our junior base on the Island. Basketball is a sport that helps develop movement skills and coordination. Being part of a team helps our children to also develop social skills and confidence.
“We would like to see our U 10 competition grow as well as our numbers in all junior grades. We also would like to see more girls getting involved with the outlook for them to have their own female competition.
“We have been lucky to send our junior teams to the mainland for basketball carnivals such as St Clair and Country Champs in past years. These teams have had great success, whilst also getting the opportunity to further develop their skills and gain experience in leadership roles, be involved in team building and experience the pride of representing their Island.
“While we do have limited resources, we have passionate people involved. New faces will bring new ideas that is needed for our Basketball Association to continue to run and to grow. Just being involved, whether as an umpire, a coach, a player or scorer, benefits our clubs and our association.”

“If we don't have an Association, we don't have Basketball, so please get involved! Kangaroo Island Basketball needs you!”
