A Grade – Wisanger vs Western Districts

Another awesome all round great game played by Wisanger. Jasmin Smart and Lisa Laffin fought hard and worked well together in defence which made it very hard for the Western Districts goalies. Renae Florance and Amy Thomas gelled well in goals and shot well to have Wisanger lead by 14 at the first break. Second and third quarters went the same way. The last quarter all girls were hot and exhausted n both teams but they worked until the end, event those it was a much slower game. Wisanger held the lead at the end of each quarter, showing a great team game, with great talk and a lot of back up.

Final score Wisanger 50, Western Districts 23

C Grade – Wisanger vs Western Districts

Being a perfect day for the last minor round game of the season meant it could go either way! Wisanger started strong with Michaela Haska & Jess Sandeman playing well in defence making it hard for Western Districs shooters. The Wonkies girls capitalised on Wisangers mistakes in the second quarter in which seen them make a three goal turn around to be leading at half time by 1 goal. Wisanger made a few positional changes at half time & brought on some fresh legs. Wisanger increased their defensive pressure all over the court in the last half which seen them winners by 5 at the end of the day!

13 and under – Western Districts and Parndana

A great game played by both teams. Iiesha Kuchel a pivotal player for Parndana. Amahli and Raemi (Western Districts) very accurate all day. Parndana making a few changes throughout the game to try and catch Western Districts. Western Districts up 21-10 at half time.

All players effected by the heat. The first sunny day for a long time. A tough tussle by the first and second placed teams with Western Districts wining.

Final score Western Districts 38, Parndana 19

11 and under – Wisanger vs Western Districts

Bright rays of sun greeted the players for a change. With both teams ready to go , the game started with an intercept by Liam and Wisanger put the first score on the board. Consistent play and accurate shooting allowed Wisanger to take the win but the score did not reflect the paly on court. Western District players Rose Kemp, Giselle Protheroe and Belle Morris took plent of intercepts and caused trouble for Wisanger. Zoe Berden, Matilda Kauppila and Maddie Govan stayed steady supporting the Wisanger team to ensure Wisanger used the ball efficiently. Thanks to Kelly and Georgie for umpiring.

Final Score – Wisanger 36, Western Districts 11

Net Set Go – Wisanger vs Western Districts

Perfect weather greeted the Net Set Go teams for their final match of this season. It has been wonderful to watch the players improve to actually understanding the game and being aware of all positions. Strong shooting by Bree and Lily put Wisanger into a strop lead with Mania and Shilo working hard in goals for Western Districts. Marley and Kelsey kept attacking and chasing the ball to keep play flowing. Magellen and Lucy were in good positions to take the ball and make the Wisanger player have to work hard at getting in front. A great game by both teams.

A Grade – Dudley versus Kingscote

Sun was out shining for the early afternoon game at Dudley.  Ricky Lee Barrios (DU) turning the first centre pass over for Dudley United scoring the first goal.  Ruby Gurney (DU), Ricky Lee Barrios (DU) and Tash Boxer (DU) combing well with strong play down the court.  Kingscote defenders, Jas Florance and Bridget Grimes trying hard.  Kingscote scoring the first 3 goals of the second quarter.  Very even play for the 2nd quarter with both teams scoring 10 goals each.  Both teams making positional changes at half time.  Brianna Smith (K) into WD with Eliza Sheridan into C. Whilst Dudley made changes as well.  Ella Johnson (DU) into C which put Ruby Gurney (DU) into WA, Ricky Lee to WD and Nikki Boxer to GD.  Julie Helyar (DU) and Nikki Boxer (DU) turning the ball over many times in the second half.  This DU defence combo kept Kingscote to a 7 goal quarter whilst DU shooters, Tash and Emma furthered their lead.  DU too strong in the end but a great game to watch.  Good luck to Dudley United and Kingscote in their finals campaign.
