It has been a cold, windy and wet few weeks, where we have been forced to cancel programmed shoots. The members did shoot once in the pouring rain, but I don’t think we will be doing that again soon.

The Kangaroo Island Archers’ field course is now under water with one or two targets gently bobbing on top of the flood water. Field shooting has been cancelled indefinitely, but the target archery course is high and dry.

Our club rooms will be built soon and without the generous donation of the shed from Scott Carter, this would not be happening so soon. Thank you Scott, we will be having a grand opening and dedication and soon as it is complete.

Come ‘n Try on Saturday mornings is going very strong with new members attending each week. If you haven’t tried archery but you are interested to see what it is about, give Iain Christie a call 8553 1222 to find out more. Children and adults are all welcome.

Shane Sanigar has completed the Child safety training course and is now our new safety officer. The club is also a Star Club as well as a Good Sports club.

Zack Sanigar is still our youngest member and tries very hard at each shoot. His dedication is to be applauded. David Hickman, Marian Konec, Donna Johnson and Iain Christie have been attending each shoot, Anne Christie has had to change equipment and Jeremy Hassan is off with an injury.

Spectators are welcome each Sunday morning and are welcome to attend our barbecue/discussion after each shoot to learn more about archery and our club. For further information contact Anne 0476 803 530.
