Golfers from the three of Kangaroo Island’s golf clubs played a Stableford competition at Penneshaw on Tuesday, August 28.
The weather was perfect and the course was mgnificant. The faiways were firm and even.
The “rough” with nine days growth since the last mowing was just right. The views of Penneshaw and over the sea were picturesque. As each group finished they commented on the excellence of the course.
Some very good golf was played and some not so good, but we all enjoyed the walk and the company. Heather Gray won with 19 points and Eileen Uren was runner-up with 18.
It was good to be able to practise on the Penneshaw course in preparation for “Ladies Week” on September 18, 20-21.
About 50 ladies from the mainland will be joining us, with the first day’s competition being Foursomes at Penneshaw.
After the competition we had an enjoyable lunch at the Penneshaw Hotel.
