The Bob Hams Memorial Men’s Over 70’s competition was played in Kingscote over two Wednesdays, December 5 and 12.
Competition saw 16 men playing with five players having won both games on the first day, and only two players finished on the second day with a total of four games.
David O’Brien and Rohan Kaehne were the two requiring a play off. After the fifth end, David O’Brien was declared the winner.
A thank-you to the Kingscote Bowling Club and the green keeper for their green and facilities, and special thanks to John Berden and Kevin Glasson, who conducted the draw and managed the days play on both weeks.
John Berden, who has been the successful player for the last five years handed over the shield to David O’Brien, who will keep the shield at the Birchmore Club for the next 12 months.
It was great to see the support and reputation from all three clubs. All enjoyed the event, and showed enthusiasm towards next year’s competition.
Hoping to see many over 70-year-old players enjoy this event next year, and wishing all a happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
