Celebrity chef Hayden Quinn and his girlfriend Jax Raynor thoroughly enjoyed their visit to Kangaroo Island last week.
But their whirlwind three-day trip was far too short and they both want to return for a longer visit.
Hayden travelled to the Island as a member of the Qantas QCollective, a group of savvy travellers helping Qantas shine a light on some of the incredible places the airline flies into.
A cameraman captured footage during their visit for promotional purposes, which should be a boost for Kangaroo Island tourism.
“We’ve been all over the place and must have done 500 kilometres,” Hayden said. “It’s been great, really, really good.
“It’s just a really beautiful spot, full of relaxed people where everybody knows everybody and the best spots where to go.”
Hayden and Jax both said a definite highlight was diving with seals and seeing a baby dolphin at Penneshaw, going out with young-award winning skipper Illija Porter-Bains.
“It was an incredible experience,” Hayden said. “Having a seal swim right up to you, we got some incredible footage.”
They couple also sampled gin at KI Spirits meeting John Lark, went out to the Clifford’s Honey Farm, Seal Bay and Remarkable Rocks.
They were driven around the Island by Kevin Riggs and Kangaroo Island Trails.
Hayden was impressed with the dumplings served by Yen Aun Leow and chef Louis Lark at the Cactus Cafe at Kingscote and posted so on Instagram.
Jax, who originally hails from Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, USA, posted on Instagram, a photo of her and a wallaby with the comment: “Made A LOT of new friends on Kangaroo Island but this guy was my favorite”.
Hayden Quinn became a household name in 2011 as a contestant in Series 3 of MasterChef Australia.
Since then Hayden has been introduced to the Australian and Worldwide public showing off his diverse talents and loveable nature.
He now has is own podcast called The Roving Mic where Hayden hits the road, taking a unique look into his guest’s world, one podcast at a time.
