Immensely popular around South Australia, the band “The 60 Four” are coming to Kangaroo Island as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, giving audiences the chance to relive their glory days
Paying homage to artists including The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Aretha Franklin, The Four Seasons, Martha Reeves, Johnny O’Keefe, and The Supremes, audiences will find it impossible to stay seated.
The group’s slick suits, sharp moves, flawless four- part harmonies, and their infectious energy has seen them go from strength to strength in the Adelaide music scene. All aged under 21 years, The 60 Four stand apart from countless other music acts, as their youthful charm transports audiences back to the 60’s.
“We started experimenting with the tight harmonies of the ‘60s in a music lesson at school. Since then, we have been truly overwhelmed by the response. It’s been amazing,” says Ben Francis, the group’s founder and lead vocalist.
The critically acclaimed quartet have performed over 100 times in public, private and corporate settings at venues including the Adelaide Oval, St Peter’s Cathedral, The Entertainment Centre, Ayers House, and the Royal Adelaide Show.
They have also taken part of two Adelaide Fringe Festivals, performing in 10 sold-out shows over two years.
“This season is our most exciting yet. A completely new lineup of artists, new suits, new venues, and a live band for our final show!”
As with previous tours, The 60 Four are eager to bring the sounds of the ‘60s to as much of South Australia as possible.
“There are many people who live in regional areas who find it difficult to venture into Adelaide to see a show. With the support of the Adelaide Fringe, we are touring this show to Victor Harbor, Mount Gambier, Kangaroo Island and Port Augusta; so no one misses out!”
The Kangaroo Island show is at the Kingscote Town Hall at 7.30pm on Sunday, February 23. Tickets are $25-$35.
