Soccer training continues at American River

Well it's week three of the new KI soccer club training at American River and the turn out remains good, despite winter flu and colds taking their toll.

Players were soon warmed up and engaged in some exciting moments of soccer with the cool weather forgotten and cheeks flushed the play began.

The Shed at American River has arranged for lights to be working and has shown us great support with the field being freshly mowed.

The smooth surface allowed for some speed and better kicking as we didn't get so bogged down in wet grass, feet less wet and tangled.

The lights flood lit the oval well and with good light and calm mild conditions anther great bight night was had by all.

The ages ranged greatly but the fun was clear as young and older players had a chance to show their form, improve their skills and patience as at any time the goals need to be re inflated. All part of the fun.

It's great to see the kids getting a better understanding of the rules and the game as the play unfolds.

Great patience and guidance demonstrated by the senior members is much appreciated.

After the game many stay to enjoy a lovely meal at the American River Shed. Their schnitzels on a fresh Tuesday night after soccer always go down well with hungry players.!

Want to come try soccer? All ages and abilities are welcome to try out and have some fun.

The new club has secured the van from the Queenie to take people from Kingscote to play. Van will leave from Queenie at approx 4.45pm to get the River.

Gold coin donation towards fuel. And we need to cover the $450 excess in the unlikely option of a crash!

Meet at the American River oval every Tuesday night at 5.30pm. Call Shane Smith on 0438 368 724 for more information. There is also a new Facebook page at The World Game on KI. - Thea Meadows
