Come and try KI dragon boating at American River

Come down and try dragon boat paddling in the Encounter Marine Park when the Kangaroo Island Dragon Boat Club paddlers take to the water on Sunday, August 18 at American River.

The special paddle out onto Pelican Lagoon has been organised with Natural Resources KI.

The dragon boats have come and try every Sunday as new paddlers are always welcome.

Originating in China, dragon boating is a fun on water experience and a great opportunity to get onto Pelican Lagoon Sanctuary Zone.

Have fun and learn about how you can enjoy life in Marine Parks. For all fitness levels, families welcome but children must be over 12 years. Bring your own water bottle and be sure to wear things you don't mind getting a little wet. Club will provide PFDs.

Meet at American River wharf 9am on Sunday, August 18. *Postponed if weather conditions aren't suitable. Contact Mary-Alice on 0427 610 268 to check.

KI Dragon Boat Club will host a morning tea at American River Campground after the paddle (gold coin donation).

KI paddlers meanwhile are training for the Australian Masters Games at West Lakes in October.

They have 16 members attending all over 50 yo. This is the third Australian Masters Games event the KI club has attended and they would love support, including some new volunteers.
