Working bee held ahead of this year's Stokes Bay fireworks

Three generations of the Stanton family got together for a working bee at the Stokes Bay hall ahead of this year's fireworks.

Each year on AFL Grand Final Day, the Stokes Bay community get organised to prepare the hall and grounds for upcoming events.

Gates open for the 2019 Stokes Bay fireworks show at 6pm on Friday, October 25 at the community hall.

Adults $10, children $5 or a family for $25. Glow products for sale. Sausages and other food items for sale, or BYO barbecue.

This year, three generations of Stantons, among approximately 20 people attacked a range of tasks both inside and out.

Hall committee member Paul Houston said the grounds were mown and cleared, garden areas tidied and tennis courts cleared.

Painting was done inside and outside of the hall, the old stage moved for repurposing and new curtains hung inside.

"This complements the new internal fans, new reverse cycle air conditioners in supper hall and main hall and the recently built new sliding doors between the two buildings," he said.

"As a community we are extremely proud of our facilities and we believe that fundraising money projects and events have been used wisely in ensuring amazing facilities for generations to come.

"The Annual Stokes Bay Fireworks night will be held on Friday, October 25 and as a thank-you to all our sponsors over the years, a special invite has been made to sponsors and councillors to come and celebrate their input over the years."
