It's on again! Fine Art Kangaroo Island's 10th annual pre-Christmas bling and cocktail party is on Friday, November 29 between 5.15 and 7pm in the Kingscote Gallery and garden.
Local 'models' of all ages and backgrounds will team with artisan jewellers to showcase the artists' new creations while sipping cocktails curated for the festivities by Kangaroo Island Spirits.
This event is one that residents do not want to miss. Adelaide fans too will often plan a quick pre-season visit to be first in line to purchase or list their favourite hand-made pieces on the Gallery's gift register.
The register, layby and gift vouchers make picking the right present for that special someone so much easier for family and friends.
'Some-Bling to Cherish' exhibition will feature the work of 12 art jewellers across mediums including precious metal, glass, clay, gemstones, found and organic materials.
Joining regulars Fred Peters, Audrey Harnett, Anne Morrison, Mark Capon and Cecilia Gunnarsson will be first time exhibitors Connie Foyle and Clare Angrave.
Both design colourful and affordable earrings but use vastly different techniques. Connie upcycles builder's laminate which she cuts and buffs while Clare forms elegant pieces in clay.
The Gallery is proud to introduce new ranges from By Blu, the design label of Patti Blucher. Patti of Vivonne Bay works as a full-time dedicated jeweller and over the past year has gained steady recognition for her delicate work on and off the Island.
Join artists and opener Sarah Kemp of Smart Future Creative on the last Friday in November. As usual there will be a Fred Peters jewellery prize awarded by a silent judge for the best matched outfit and jewellery.
Contact Fleur Peters 0417 832 037 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to be matched to a jeweller of your choice.
Alternately pick your own fancy cocktail or relaxed party outfit and show a piece from your personal collection. No need to RSVP. Everyone welcome.
