Kangaroo Island softball competition all tied up after Round One

Round One of Kangaroo Island softball has now been completed and all three teams - Western Districts, Parndana and Wisanger -have won one game each, making for a very even competition for the rest of the season.

Panthers went into bat first and batted up six runs with Rory Baker in his first game hitting a home run.

Roosters scored eight runs with Alicia hitting a two bagger to left field.

Young Colton Trethewey in his first game came onto pitch and showed he will be a first class pitcher of the future.

Julz Hansen and Rory Baker hit three baggers to finish the second innings for Panthers with seven runs.

Shakira Tremaine for Roosters hit a three bagger to right field and Bec Davis a two base hit to centre field putting them one run 13-12 behind Panthers at the completion of the second innings.

Tanya Millar came onto pitch for Panthers and teamed well with Julz Hansen at first keeping Roosters scoreless in the third innings.

Fielding tightened up as the game progressed with Panthers only scoring three runs with some great throw-ins from the outfield by Shakira Tremaine.

Score Panthers 16 Roosters 13 at the end of the third.

In the fourth innings, Panthers scored four runs giving them a total of 20 while Alicia Cooper for Roosters hit a home run to left field and Shakira Tremaine a two bagger to right field but not enough to catch up to Panthers finishing on 15 runs.

Jen Flanders and Shakira Tremaine top scored for Parndana three runs each and Rory Baker three and Katie Whiting four runs for Panthers.
