The History Trust of South Australia visited Kingscote to provide a comprehensive briefing on the ins and outs, do's and don'ts of running events during the 2020 History Festival.
The meeting on Monday, December 2 was attended by volunteer representatives of Island museums and community groups keen on sharing the wonderful and unique history of the Island.
The History Festival has grown over the years to be one of South Australia's largest grass roots participation events with thousands of volunteers bringing to life stories of our past.
The History Festival promotes our historical collections, places and stories through hundreds of events ranging from talks to tours, walks to workshops and exhibitions to special events.
The 2020 Festival to be held during the month of May is themed 'Change'.
From political change to social change. Changing places, changing minds, changing hearts. Change for the better, change for the worse - on a big or a small scale - and everything in between.
Event organisers are being invited to plan events around this idea, in any way they choose.
Early bird event registrations must be submitted by January 22 and final registrations must be in by February 6. - Steve Harrison
