A NSW man wanted on charges including fraud has been caught allegedly trying to flee the country on a yacht.
The 52-year-old from Nambucca Heads was stopped by the Australian Border Force on Thursday morning as he was heading towards the edge of Australia's territorial boundary.
The crew on the Cape St George intercepted the man after he was located approximately 110 nautical miles north-north-east of Darwin on Tuesday.
Authorities were alerted after the 52-year-old allegedly took the 7.2 metre vessel named One Too Many from a man in Darwin.
It is alleged the victim offered to sell the boat, but had it stolen before payment could be made.
As well as being wanted in Darwin for questioning over the yacht, the man had an outstanding NSW revocation of parole warrant.
He has been remanded in custody pending an application for extradition by Detectives from NSW Police in the Darwin Magistrates Court early next week.
