Kangaroo Island residents whose homes have been damaged or destroyed by the bushfires, now have access to a Red Cross grants officer.

The officer will again be at the Parndana Recover Centre this week to discuss what grants are available and to provide support to make a new application.

If you have already applied for one of the grants, they can also follow up on your application.

The grants officer will be available from Tuesday, February 25, to Saturday, February 29, between 9am and 5pm.

No appointment is necessary; people can just drop into the recovery centre and have a chat. Ring 0466 452 251 to make contact.

Grants are available to assist fire affected people. Currently they include cash grants for people who have lost their homes, for people who were hospitalised due to the fires and for home owners whose properties have suffered significant structural damage.

For more detail on grants, visit the Parndana Recovery Centre or go to redcross.org.au
