Kangaroo Island netball rising star Georgie Horjus has reached another milestone in her career; being named in the Adelaide Thunderbirds' squad as a training partner.
Horjus, 18, was first introduced to the elite netball environment in 2019 when she became an Adelaide Thunderbirds Pathway Athlete.

Having hailed from Parndana and moving to Adelaide to further her sporting career, Horjus will be joined in the squad by Tayla Williams, Chelsea Blackman and international recruit Beth Cobden.
Head coach Tania Obst said all four athletes added diversity and depth to the side and were a testament to the talent on offer in SA.
"Georgie and Tayla have progressed from pathway athletes to now training partners," Obst said.
"They have had 12 months working in our Tbirds environment and have shown progression in their technical and tactical development.
"Both possess a natural feel for the game, which will help prepare them for success at the next level."
2019 proved to be a huge year for Horjus, who was elevated to the Adelaide Thunderbirds squad that competed at the Suncorp #TeamGirls Cup in March in Brisbane.
She was also one of two co-captains for 2019 17U State Team that year.
Standing at 171cm tall, the young gun who plays wing attack and goal attack will aim to impress coaches in the coming months.
In 2018, Horjus was the Premier League Grand Final Player of the Match
In both 2017 and 2018 she won a gold medal at National Netball Championships playing in 17U SA State Team.
The Adelaide Thunderbirds' 2020 season kicks off on Sunday, May 3 as the side host the Giants from 2.30pm at Priceline Stadium.
