The crew at the Aurora Ozone Hotel like other hospitality businesses on KI have used the coronavirus pandemic downtime to do some improvements.

The front sports bar at the Ozone has been transformed into lounge bar, featuring comfortable lounge chairs and stools around wine barrels.

The sports bar and TAB is now located in the front of the hotel with a view of the waters of Nepean Bay.

"It's been our little corona project," general manager Mary-Lou Corcoran said.

Staff were surprised the removal of the old carpet revealed the original timber floorings from the when the hotel was rebuilt after the 1918 fire, started in the chimney, that gutted the building.

Another interesting feature of the new lounge bar is the back wall filled with humorous and cheeky sayings and slogans that the staff had great fun coming up with.

You will just have to go for a drink in the new Ozone lounge bar to see what they say!
