The Baudin Beach Progress Association held its AGM last week and formed a new subcommittee to work on rebuilding the boat ramp.

Des Lanthoise stepped down as president and while Deane Modra was voted in as his replacement.

Association member Des Gubbin is on the new boat ramp subcommittee formed at the AGM.

He said it would work on a future upgrade and existing maintenance needs of the ramp.

The progress association had previously approached the Kangaroo Island Council saying its members would be willing to do the work itself with the council's approval.

Mr Gubbin said the boat ramp, barbecue in the beach shelter and a new strategic plan for Baudin Beach would be discussed at the association's next meeting at 2pm on on Feb. 7 in the beach shelter shed with all residents welcome to attend.

"I would personally like to thank Des Lanthoise for his work as the president for many years and a special thanks to our secretary/treasurer Robyn Bialek for her dedicated contribution to our association," he said. "I look forward to working with the new president Deane Modra and the new committee."
