They say that 40 is the new 30 - but what if 40 was actually the new 50?
While we cannot change our age, our health could be doing that for us!
Your health age is based on how healthy your body actually is. So, whilst you may be 40 years old, your health may mean you're actually 60 or, look on the bright side, you could be 30!
So, how old are you, really?
The University of South Australia (UniSA), in partnership with FocusOne Health, encourages you to put your health age to the test.
A team from UniSA will be providing free health assessments to Kangaroo Island residents next month.
Health assessments will include height and weight measurements, blood pressure and finger prick blood testing, waist and hip measurements, balance, grip strength, lung functioning, reaction time and a physical activity assessment.
All information collected from participants will be entered into an iPad, and specifically designed software will estimate each participant's overall health age at the completion of the assessments.
Following these assessments, participants will be given expert advice on how to improve exercise habits.
The UniSA team hope this process encourages people to think about what the next steps are in order to live a healthier life.
The study assessments will be held at American River, Parndana, Kingscote and Penneshaw on Thursday and Friday, May 6-7.
The locations will be provided once a booking has been made.
Bookings are limited. For more information and to book a time, please contact Emma Milanese on 8302 1186 or email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
