The Anzac Day Resilience Concert at the fire-affected Western Districts Community Club was a wonderful way of bringing together community, talented locals and a band who has the Anzac spirit flowing through body and soul.
Thank you to everyone who came along. Thanks to our sponsors Bendigo Bank Foundation, The Department of the Premier and Cabinet, National Bushfire Agency, Junction Australia, Rotary International Australian Districts, Australian Red Cross and for the support from the Western KI Lions, SeaLink, Kangaroo Island Council and KI Tru Thai.
Thank you to Susie Keynes for not only being our emcee but also spoiling us with a beautiful set of songs. Thank you to our local artists Kaylene Graham, Christine Mcgiffin Rourke and Tim Nicholson for outstanding performances.
Thank you to John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew for coming over the sea to entertain a resilient Kangaroo Island community, and to Chris Young and his team from Densal for the sound setup and the boys from SA staging for the stage.
Thank you to Alicia Tremaine and her Parndana Show society team for the marquee and setup.
Thank you to all the Western Districts volunteers for their mammoth effort in the days leading up to our first games and event back at the oval since the bushfires nearly 16 months ago.
Thank you to local filmmaker Isaac Doman for capturing the emotions and events of the evening. Thank you to my small but hard-working support crew of Joe Tippett, Susi Whitehead and Maree Baldwin.
A special thank you Greg Bald for fixing all the problems over the weekend with me and to Catherine Tydeman for a tremendous pile of work achieved as a superstar team over the last four weeks and planning since October and still cooking me almond chai teas in the back of your car.
Last but not least, thank you to my family for having my back through the organisation of this and to my husband Ben for fixing my crown when I was caving under pressure.
There is no 'I' in 'TEAM' and this one was a big - no, a huge - team effort.
Thank you to everyone who attended for being such a good audience.
