Tahlia Florence shot well for W in the goals, working hard to get around the Morgan sisters, who were at times impenetrable.

Parndana report

A Grade: It was an even contest between the two teams in red in Saturday's match between Parndana and Kingscote. Parndana won the toss, scoring the first goal, and for the first few minutes the goals were going with the centre passes. An intercept early in the first quarter put Parndana in front, but Kingscote fought to close the gap before the end of the first quarter.

Parndana lifted the intensity in the second quarter, with Marina and Takeda working hard in defence. It didn't seem to phase Kingscote's GA, Emma, who still managed to get almost all of her goals in from just about anywhere in the circle. A few timely intercepts on the defensive goal circle from Parndana's Crystal and Ella gave Parndana a good run, and Pa and Bridget's steady shots meant Parndana was up by 2 at half time.

Both teams made changes coming into the second half. Kingscote swapped Deanna into WD and Scarlett went into goals, putting Emma out at WA. Parndana brought on fresh legs, with Kimbo running in the centre and Jordy in defence, bringing Takeda up to GA, and Bridget out to WA. Scarlett and Sophie were shooting well for Kingscote, Bridget was feeding well for Parndana, Takeda and Pa were shooting nicely, and Jordy and Marina were scrambling hard for the ball to keep Parndana's lead alive. Both teams were beginning to tire, and at the end of the third quarter the scores were all tied up.

A few more positional changes happened during the last break giving Parndana a strong start to the fourth quarter. Kingscote GS, Sophie, was guiding their attack end, allowing Kingscote to fight back again. A few turnovers and contacts in the mid-court, and some strong defensive pressure, allowed Parndana to finish strong, winning the match 44-39. - Crystal Stewart
