Kangaroo Island Netball Association took their 15&U and 17&U representative teams to Woodside in the Adelaide Hills to compete in the Mid Hills Netball Association Annual Carnival on May 23.

The teams travelled up to Mount Barker on Saturday night after finishing their local games and stayed at the Mount Barker Caravan Park.

Both teams noticed the aggressive and physical nature of the opposition early on and had to withstand strong defensive pressure from all the teams that they came up against.

Participation in this carnival provided an opportunity for players to connect with each other and for the coaches to trial various combinations, in preparation for the Country Championships, which will be held in Adelaide on the June long weekend.

The results were as follows:

17&U KI 8 - River Murray 25, KI 12 - Mid Hills 33, KI 9 - Great Southern 22, KI 5 - River Murray 34, KI 8 - Mid Hills 30

15&U: KI 15 - Mallee 23, KI 12 - Great Southern 19, KI 10 - Mid Hills 14, KI 7 - Southern Hills 12

We would like to thank our awesome volunteers, who make this all happen: Cherie Kuchel (15&U Coach), Renae Florance (15&U Manager), Lucy Morgan (15&U Umpire), Kristy Turner (17&U Coach), Amy Thomas (17&U Umpire), Mietta Macauley (17&U Scorer).

Thanks also to SeaLink for their ongoing sponsorship of the Kangaroo Island Netball Association. - Kate Murray, KINA Carnival Convenor
