The Enchanted Fig Tree dining experience at Middle River has been a big success thanks to fantastic support of KI food producers and the Island community.
So much so, that Nick Hannaford of Life Time Private Retreats is rolling out the next stage of his Gastronomo project.
"We are delighted to announce that after a successful 2020/21 season opening of The Enchanted Fig Tree, we now have the confidence to launch our next event - The Feast, Kangaroo Island," he said.
Gastronomo has been humbled to learn through a customer survey that The Enchanted Fig Treedirectly drove visitation to KI and assisted in extending visitor itineraries.
Of a total of 310 guests surveyed, 13 per cent said their prime reason for visiting KI was because of The Enchanted Fig Tree.
While 45 per cent said the event factored highly in making the decision to visit KI, and 20 per cent said that they extended their stay to dine at the Fig Tree.
Gastonomo also provided more than six full-time jobs through the four-month season at the Fig Tree.
Without giving too much away, the new dining event The Feast, Kangaroo Island will have guests surrounded by flickering candlelight in a venue hand-crafted by old sugar gum trees.
The evening's progressive feast will follow "food-lines" of many tastes and flavours that will be inspired from the land and sea, cooked among fires and on the coals.
The Feast dining experience will open for two-week intervals each month, starting from the September 16 through November, with details available at www.gastronomodining.com.au
