KI Motor Club is going to hold a special emergency meeting to try keep the club going. Various committee positions need to be filled.
President Wayne Riley said the club was in danger of folding, which would end iconic events such as the annual KI Sprints on Arranmore Road.
Island residents who join the club can also get discount registration on their classic vehicles, but if the club folds then this will no longer be an option for car enthusiasts on the Island.
Mr Riley was stoked with his Top 10 finish with his 1977 Charger in this year's Sprint event and there was a great crowd.
The quarter-mile drag event is the premier annual event for the KI Motor Club, which is also looking for more participants for its regular, picnic car runs around the Island.
To get involved in the club, contact Wayne on 0409 096 406 or attend the upcoming special meeting at Wayne's house on Chapman Terrace at 6.30pm on Tuesday, August 10. Free pizza.
