The Bennett family has held another successful sale at the Bark Hut White Suffolk and Composite Stud at Birchmore on Kangaroo Island on Thursday, October 7.
The volume buyers for 2021 were Alan and Tristan Thomas of AL & TM Thomas at American River, who took home eight rams.
Top bidder on the day were Justin and Mel Holman with $2800 for the Lot 1 composite ram. The sale average was $1652.
"It was good to see repeat clients along with new ones to our sale, with quite a few clients mentioning on how well our white Suffolks are with their growth, muscling and the on going progress each year," Andrew Bennett said.
"We also had repeat clients targeting the good heavy composite rams, with the traditional downs type wool and muscling required in the prime lamb industry."
Andrew and Bec would like to say a huge thanks to all buyers for their ongoing support, and wish them all the success for this coming season.
"Clients are happy with results they have been achieving using Bark Hut sires, because of their confirmation and style to produce early growth in their prime lambs," he said.
"Having confidence in knowing that they are buying from a stud that is one of the few that actually produce prime lambs as their main enterprise and have so for close to 30 years, with good results on hitting the trade market for heavy weight lambs straight out of the paddock."
Bark Hut had 118 listed in the sale, 80 composite and 38 white Suffolks.
Nutrien and Elders ran the sale, while Zoetis sponsored the sale with a drench prize pack for the top bidders.
